A maritime professional with over 25 years experience in the field and a Vice President of the Women in Maritime Association Caribbean (WiMAC), Mrs. Grant currently serves as the Deputy Executive Director of the Caribbean Maritime Institute Jamaica. As a maritime professional, she has occupied several senior management and executive positions in the public service and has served in consultative roles regionally and internationally. She is recognized as a trailblazer in the launching of the Caribbean Diploma in International Shipping and Logistics (CDISL) in the Eastern Caribbean and taught on this Programme for many years.
Her academic achievements include a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Masters of Science Degree in Maritime Administration and Environmental Management from the World Maritime University, Malmo, Sweden, and Diploma in Teacher Education. While at WMU, she served as the President of her class where she represented the university internationally as Student Ambassador.
As an author and publisher, she has contributed several articles to journals and national magazines. One of her many achievements is the co-authoring of a publication, “Women In The Shipping Industry: Surviving And Thriving In A Man’s World” which was presented at the Global Women’s Conference at the World Maritime University, Malmo, Sweden in April 2014 and has since been published in the Book, Global Maritime Women Leadership. Mrs. Grant along with her colleague, Claudia Grant championed the historic establishment of the Women in Maritime Association Caribbean (WiMAC) in April 2015 and was elected as one of the Vice Presidents with responsibility for Resource Mobilization and Sustainability.
Mrs. Grant is an active member of several clubs and societies. She is actively involved in community outreach activities, mentorship and leadership training which are usually implemented through her church. Mrs. Grant is a nature lover. She enjoys swimming, cruising/sailing reading and cooking. .
