Drs. Tosca Pinas is an auditor with more than 15 years of experience. She is employed by the Maritime Authority Suriname (MAS) for 8 years, as head of Internal Audit department, recently named Quality and Control department, where she is responsible for financial, operational and maritime related control. After MAS became an ISO 9001:2008 certified company in December 2008 she leads up to date all the internal audits, and is responsible for the communication and the execution of the final ISO audit.

Mrs. Pinas is a doctarandus in the economics, an economist from the Anton de Kom University of Suriname. From 2009 up to date she serves as facilitator / committee member of theses of the disciplines Economics, Public Administration, and Sociology of Anton de Kom University. 

Her work history include her time at the Government Public Accountant department, where her work included a key role in the planning and execution of auditing and accounting, annual audits of both government, semi-government bodies and project administration. Furthermore, the provision of advice in the field of administrative organization and the control and monitoring of processes and procedures required.

She has been and still is an active member in several organizations. She acts from 2007 to August 2008 chairman of the " Suriname Rural Women Producers (SUNROP)” who is a member of Caribbean Network of Rural Women Producers (CANROP), supported by IICA with a goal: to create a network of all women's organization in the rural areas. Acting as former treasurer of the Foundations Mamio Name Project (SNMP), which deals with HIV/AIDS and the Maroon Women's Network (MVN). She is now the treasurer of Heaven’s Gates Ministry and is also actively involved in community outreach activities, mentorship through her church.
