Deniece Aiken is an Attorney-at-Law who holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Degree in International Relations and Political Science from the University of the West Indies and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from the University of London. She completed her Legal Education Certificate Course at the Norman Manley Law School and was called to the Jamaican Bar in 2012.Deniece also completed a Masters of Science Degree (Dist.) in Maritime Affairs, specializing in Maritime Law & Policy at the World Maritime University in Sweden where she was the recipient of the Pierre Leonard Award for the Best Female Student. She is the Founding President and member of the Secretariat of the WMU Women’s Association.
Miss Aiken is an Adjunct Lecturer at the Caribbean Maritime Institute where she lectures Maritime Law and International Conventions, Carriage of Goods by Sea Law, Business Law and Immigration Law & Regulation.
She currenlty serves as the International Chapter Leader for the Jamaica Chapter of the University of London Alumni Association and sits as a Director on the Boards of the Caribbean Maritime Institute, the Jamaica Maritime Institute Trust Fund, the Jamaica Rowing Federation and the American Caribbean Maritime Foundation.
Her involvements also include being a Member of the Jamaica Bar Association and Trainee Mediator with the Dispute Resolution Foundation.
